Which group was prominent in the temperance movement?

There were a couple: one was the Women's Christian Temperance Union, us. called the WCTU, and the Anti-Saloon League. I believe the Anti-Saloon League was the most active, headed by the domestic terrorist Carrie Nation. I say that kinda tongue-in-cheek, but she was notorious for literally storming into taverns with a hatchet and smashing the place up. Now that's what I call terrorism!
