Are human raised mallard ducks smart enough to fly south for winter?

We are raising 6 ducks but do not want them to stay in WI for the winter. We will slowly ween them off our food and they have plenty off marsh to feed in but are they smart enough to know what direction is south and to know to go south when it starts getting cold? We are hoping they will see other "smart" ducks and follow them.
