Is it beneficial to do M.Tech for a corporate career?

I'm a final year CSE student with CGPA 9.13. I'v a GATE 2011 score of 644 (marks 51 out of 100 and All India rank 1434). I'm placed in TCS by campus selection during B.tech and I want to remain in the corporate sector. But I want to do M.Tech first and then go for any job. Many friends and teachers are saying that M.Tech is useful only if you want to go for teaching or research, and it will be useless for me. What should I do?
